Repair Skill Level: 2 | Beginner to Moderate
Minimal disassembly (if any) and some basic tools may be needed.

Part Description: The ignitor draws electrical current through the oven safety valve to open it, then ignites gas burners to heat the oven to temperature.

Failure Symptoms: Oven not baking/broiling evenly, keeping the correct temperature, or not heating at all.

Testing: Observe the igniter during operation. If the igniter glows for more than 90 seconds without igniting the gas flame, the igniter is too weak to open the valve and should be replaced. If the igniter does not glow at all, use a multimeter to test the igniter for continuity. If there is not continuity, replace it. During operation, if the oven temp drops more than 40 degrees Fahrenheit before the igniter relights the burner, then it should be replaced.
