Part Description: The receptacle is the socket that the burner elements plug in to connect your burner to the cooktop. Over time the receptacle contacts can burn out.
Failure Symptoms: Poor operation of burner, no operation of burner or a sizzling noise under the burner/cooktop.
Testing: Check the receptacle contacts for damage or burning/scorch marks. If damage is found, the receptacle should be replaced.
Bonus Tip: When checking the receptacle, also look at the element prongs for signs of burning. If burnt, the element and the receptacle should be replaced.
