Repair Skill Level: 2 | Beginner to Moderate
Minimal disassembly (if any) and some basic tools may be needed.

Part Description: The thermistor monitor the evaporator coils temperature and sends the reading to the control board.

Failure Symptoms: Inaccurate temperature display; freezer temp too warm/cold and/or inconsistant; Frost or ice build up; Freezer running for longer than normal periods of time or cycling on and off frequently.

Testing: Test the thermistor, using a multimeter. The thermistor resistance should change along with the refrigerator temperature. If the thermistor resistance does not change with the surrounding temperature, or if the thermistor does not have continuity, it should be replaced.

Bonus Tip: Ensure that your refrigerator is maintaining the correct temperature by placing a fridge thermometer inside the unit. Generally, fresh food section should be set between 37 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit, and the freezer section should be set at or below zero degrees Fahrenheit.
