Failure Symptoms: Poor operation of burner, no operation of burner or a sizzling noise under the burner/cooktop.
How to test: Look at the receptacle contacts with a flashlight. If the terminals look burnt you will need to replace the element receptacle.
Also make sure the element prongs are clean and not burnt. If the prongs are burnt bad the element will need to be replaced as well.
Repair Tip: Make sure your unit is getting enough power. If the electric range is receiving less than the required 220 volts of alternating current, the surface element will not work.
