Part Description: The thermal fulse is a safety fuse that blows in order to cut off power if the dryer overheats.
Failure Symptoms: Dryer won't start; Dryer won't heat.
Testing: Use a multimeter to test it for continuity. If there is no continuity it should be replaced.
Bonus Tip: A blown thermal fuse indicates a restriction in the exhaust vent that runs from the dryer to the outside. Be sure to check the dryer venting whenever you need to replace the thermal fuse. Also check for build up on your lint filter screen. Residue from dryer sheets and fabric softener can build up on lint screens and restrict air flow.
