The door lock and switch assembly is used on front loading machines to hold the door closed while the unit is running.
Failure Symptoms: When the door lock or switch is damaged or defective the door may not latch properly, preventing the door from locking. This could also prevent the unit from being able to start.
How to Test: The door lock and switch assembly can fail mechanically or electrically. To check if it a mechanical error inspect the lock and switch assembly for damage and see if it is latching properly. To check for an electrical error, use a multi-meter to test the switches for electrical continuity. If there is no continuity replace the switch.
*Continuity is the presence of a complete path for current flow. A continuity test is a quick check to see if a circuit is open or closed. Only a closed, complete circuit (one that is switched ON) has continuity.
*Continuity testing should be attempted only when voltage is NOT present in the circuit being tested. Always unplug the device or turn off the main circuit breaker before attempting a continuity test. Ensure that all capacitors are safely discharged.

Frigidaire Washer Door Lock/Switch
Thrifty offered this part at about one-third the cost of other online vendors! When I was concerned that it might be defective, they even sent a replacement at no charge. Great customer service!

Super company!!
Very happy with my purchase and fast service!! I ordered my part on Sat and received on Wed. Went to local appliance store and they wanted $74.00 for the part. Ordered it from you for $21.00. I would highly recommend this company if you need any parts!!

Fixed my no-spin problem!
Part arrived quickly and seems to be exactly what was needed to fix my no-spin problem. The only thing is it would have been nice if it came with new screws for attaching it, as the existing ones seemed to be a bit too snug for the new part, but it worked. I was nervous about tackling this on my own, but so easy! Thank you!

First one didn't work but 2nd did the trick.
This is the door latch replacement part so the washing machine will enter the spin cycle. The first one that was sent to me didn't work at all. I emailed and was given excellent help to make sure I had the right part and a 2nd replacement was sent right away. I don't like that I had to pay shipping on the second part since I wouldn't have needed it if the first one (which I paid shipping for as well) had worked.

Watched Youtube video, replaced door latch, worked. 5 minute job
Was a bit concerned that the Thrifty part was not exactly the door latch part number from my Whirlpool. But they said on the ordering page that it was a drop-in replacement. The board color was slightly different, but otherwise a perfect physical match. Watched a couple home-done youtube videos on how to get to the part and replace it. Was careful to replace one connector at a time and not accidentally flip it over. Took less than a minute to move the three electrical connections from the old one to the new, and 5 minutes total from sitting down in front of the washer until standing up to give it a try. Closed the door, hit the run switch, and back in business washing clothes again.
